The long-awaited 'National Security Strategy has finally been issued by the Biden administration. An interim national security paper was produced last year that emphasized China's escalating aggression, claiming that the United States is under siege.

Since the early 1990s when the term soft power was coined by Joseph Nye, it has transformed significantly both in definition, concept, practice, and actors involved in the implementation of the strategy. Such changes have been brought about by a number of reasons, ranging from the critique scholars have had on the definition of the term, the changing structure of the international system as well as the changes in the capabilities of different actors.

Turkey - US Forum has been formed with this purpose. The Forum that will be held annually; aims to develope and strengthen the relations between Turkey and the US. The forum also aims to serve as a platform that will put forward the opportunities and ideas that will elevate interests of both countries regarding the region and also broader areas.

On the other hand, USA is a recognized power in global arena with its acreage, population of over 330 million, development in industrialization and technology, growing economy, natural resources, demographic structure,veto power in the United Nations, position in IMF and NATO.

The new era of the Turkey-U.S. relations is brought to the table in Istanbul with the joint efforts of Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM) and Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA)
