Chair ŞENSOY: “The Codes of the Current Revolution in Defence and Security will be Discussed at the Conference“

Süleyman ŞENSOY, the Founding Chair of TASAM, made the following statement:
“Since 2015, the Istanbul Security Conference, organized by TASAM and the National Defence and Security Institute, has become an Istanbul-centered international ‘brand event’ and a ‘network of interaction/expertise’ where national and international security issues, as well as global governance mechanisms and institutions, are discussed each year with a different proactive agenda based on the changing nature of the state. In today’s world, which is evolving into a multi-layered ‘security and defence’ universe due to rapidly developing technologies and profound socio-political transformations, this multidimensional paradigm shift, which transforms not only military and technological capacity but also social and ethical values, national institutions, and global cooperation mechanisms, is expressed as the ‘Defence, Security and Intelligence Revolution.’ The main issue is no longer just “combating threats,“ but rather being able to design a holistic security approach that will protect human dignity and our collective future. “Ecological problems, cyber threats, the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on social order and law, radical social movements, multiple chaos scenarios, and similar elements demonstrate that security and defence can no longer be addressed solely within a military framework, while the codes of the current revolution in defence and security will be discussed at the Conference.“

Chair ŞENSOY stated that, as in the previous conferences of the series, strong participation is expected in the 11th Istanbul Security Conference events from state representatives, defence and security actors, academics, policymakers, sector representatives, experts, and think tanks, and that relevant protocol members and international institutions from numerous countries have been invited through embassies/missions.
