Turkey - Mexico Round Table Meeting

The first of Turkey Mexico Roundtable Meeting series is going to be held in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico between 23 and 24 June 2014 with the main theme of "Turkey and Mexico: Rising Powers in a Changing World Order, Opportunities and Risks"

Organized by COMEXI (Consejo Mexicano de Asuntos Internacionales), the most important think tank in Mexico, which is presided by the former foreign minister Fernando Solana, and TASAM (Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Research), Turkey – Mexico Roundtable will be participated by the Turkish delegation consisted of TASAM Vice Presidents Ambassador (R) Murat Bilhan and Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu, Marmara University, TASAM Advisor to Chairman Ambassador (R) Prof. Dr. Ali Engin Oba and Assoc. Prof. Evren Çelik Wiltse, TOBB ETU University.

A cooperation protocol between TASAM and COMEXI had been signed in Mexico in 2010. The protocol signed prior to Turkey visit of foreign minister of Mexico in 2010 was enclosed to the dossier prepared by officials of Foreign Ministry of Mexico for the visit of Mr. Patricia Espinosa, then Foreign Minister of Mexico, under the title of “talking points“

Organized with the main theme of “Turkey and Mexico: Rising Powers, Culture and Public Diplomacy in the Changing World Order“ Turkey – Mexico Roundtable Meeting is going to deal with subthemes such as “Global Challenges, New Multipolar World Order and Foreign Policy Perspectives“, Economic Relations: Opportunities and Difficulties“, “System of Sources: Mutual Complementary Opportunities“, “Multidimensional Security Cooperation“, “Multilateral Cooperation Perspectives“, “Perspectives of Civil Society, Academic and Cultural Cooperation“
