World Turkic Forum will be organized with global participation between 28th and 30rd of May 2014 for the third time in its history.
The second meeting of World Turkic Forum Wise Persons Council will take place in Edirne.
For the first time; “Red Apple Awards“ will be given in 11 categories in Edirne to various individuals from Turkic World.
Turkish Asian Centre for Strategic Studies (TASAM) gathers academics, statesmen, diplomats, journalists, leaders of NGOs and Think Tanks from Turkic World and Diasporas around the world in Edirne.

Chairman Şensoy: “We are aiming to strengthen institutionalization“
Chairman of TASAM Süleyman Şensoy mentioned that the main difference of World Turkic Forum which was institutionalized three years ago that it has the decree to include Turkic Diasporas besides independent Turkic States and institutions. He also said: “Based upon World Turkic Forum’s Strategic Vision Document; it is aimed to strengthen the institutionalization with the participation of independent Turkic States’ delegations whether they had signed the Agreement of Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States or not and opinion leaders of Turkic Diasporas around the world.
Two Different Main Themes in Two Different Meeting Halls
3rd World Turkic Forum will begin with the opening ceremony on 28th of May Wednesday evening at 19.30 in Edirne at Trakya University Of Fine Arts (The Old Train Station). The Forum which will begin with the opening session on 29th of May Thursday at 09.30 in Ekmekçizade Ahmed Pasha Caravansary; will continue in two different meeting halls under two main themes.
In the Turkic World sessions the issue of “Turkic Republics; Culture Diplomacy and Tourism“ and in the Turkic Diasporas sessions the issue of “Turkic and Armenian Diasporas; Public Diplomacy: Opportunities and Risks“ will be discussed.
“Red Apple Awards“ to Turkic World
In the final declaration of 2nd World Turkic Forum which took place in İstanbul on 03-05 April 2013; it has been adopted that a “Turkic World Award“ ceremony should be organized within the body of the Forum. In order to honor and encourage successful individuals and institutions that strengthen Turkic World’s vision and depth; it was decided that Turkic World Red Apple Awards would be given to those individuals and institutions annually beginning from 2014.
The awards will be given in 11 categories such as; Red Apple “Public Diplomacy“ Award, Red Apple “Special“ Award, Red Apple “Sports“ Awards, Red Apple “Strategy“ Award, Red Apple “Technology“ Award, Red Apple “Art“ Award, Red Apple “Culture“ Award, Red Apple “Science“ Award, Red Apple “Business“ Award, Red Apple “Diplomacy“ Award, Red Apple “State“ Award. The awards will be given for the first time, in the second day of 3rd World Turkic Forum on 29th of May 2014 Thursday evening in Edirne.

The first meeting of WTF Wise Persons Council was suggested to be formed in 1st World Turkic Forum in October 2012; took place in Istanbul in April 2013 at the margin of 2nd World Turkic Forum. Justin McCarthy in 3rd World Turkic Forum
Prof. Justin McCarthy who is a lecturer in University of Louisville, USA and worldwide known expert on history of Ottoman Empire, Balkans and Middle East, will be present at the Forum as a speaker in “Historical Perspective of Turkic-Armenian Relations from Ottoman Empire to Republic of Turkey“ session. Forum will be concluded with general negotiations in closing session which will be chaired by Prof. Vildan Serin.

The meeting of board of directors of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) will take place simultaneously in Edirne.
