Issues of economics-security nexus once brought in 1930S-1940S1 became valid again as a result of the break-up of Soviet Union and emergence at the global political map of fifteen independent states. Among them are five states of Central Asia, namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. To implement their domestic and foreign policies the states searched for cooperation within the framework of regional and international institutions and regimes. Since the Central Asian region concerned, we define two groups of institutions involved: first group includes organizations with supra-regional scope of activities and membership; and the second one comprises of institutions with closer regional list of members-countries and objectives and thus it has more specific and practical impact for the region.
