The strategic triangular relationship Russia-India-China, as it has asserted itself in the political science discourse, dates back to the mid-90s of the previous century. The general idea of the trilateral cooperative format was to curb the negative consequences of the unipolar structure of the then existent world system resulting from the dismemberment of the erstwhile Soviet Union and the emergence of the United States of America as the "lonely" superpower allegedly shaping various aspects and manifestations of the global development.
