The third of Multidimensional Turkish Foreign Policy, TASAM Ankara Meetings which are monthly held by the TASAM Ankara Office, was held on the 27th of December 2008 under the topic of “New Russia’s Regional and Wolrd Policies / RIC (Russia, India, China)“. TASAM Ankara Representative (R) Ambassador Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Engin OBA hosted the meeting, and Head of the Department of International Relations of Doğuş University, Prof. Dr. Duygu SEZER and Head of the Department of International Relations of Adnan Menderes University Asst. Prof. Dr. Selçuk ÇOLAKOĞLU contributed to the meeting with their presentations. After Mr. OBA’s presenting the speakers and a short introduction on the meeting, Mrs. Sezer and Mr. ÇOLAKOĞLU made their presentations followingly.
In her speech, Mrs. SEZER evaluated the process of USSR’s turning into Russia, and mentioned about the cultural and economical changes, the perception of the concept of democracy and the Russian foreign policy especially in the period of Yeltsin and Putin.
Mr. ÇOLAKOĞLU first made a genera briefing on the issue of China and India, and later touched upon the relations of countries with the USA and Russia. He emphasized the rising significance of India and China through regional developments such as the Shangai Cooperation Organisation.

Following the presentations, the participants comprising of bureaucrats , retired ambassadors, diplomats, academicians ans students, asked their questions and delivered their opinions. The meeting ended with the final assessment of Mr. OBA.
