Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies TASAM, which had been operating its activities in its building on the Vatan Street ever since its foundation in 2003, has moved to the historical building of Balaturka which is located at the coast of Balat, with the purpose of increasing its service quality.
Balaturka is a stone residence that was built in 1890 among other “Historical Fener Balat Houses“ ,whose architectural aesthetic is admired by all over the world, in Balat which is a district that has carried its name, meaning “palace“, to our days as an old ghetto that sheltered three different religious groups of Istanbul in peace and well-being, the capital of three big empires, for centuries... Together with its cultural and artistic character in Turkish style, it is an authentic Turkish house with six floors that has witnessed the history… From now on, TASAM will continue to carry out its projects that have been produced in the civilization perspective of justice and power in this prestigious building of Balaturka.
Being an independent scientific research center that has a incorporated non-governmental organization body, TASAM has moved to the address of “Balaturka Binası, Akçin Sokak, No.3, Fener-Balat, 34087 Istanbul“ all together with its institutionalized international platforms, associations and institutes, technical communication units and publishing house.
